It doesn\u2019t reflect intelligence or potential but rather how the brain processes language. It\u2019s estimated that 10% of the UK population is dyslexic, which manifests in various ways.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #bda762;\"><strong>How does dyslexia affect people?<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Those with dyslexia often experience challenges with traditional educational methods. They might need more time to read or write, but their creative, analytical and visual thinking can be extraordinary. It\u2019s a unique wiring that often brings unexpected and brilliant solutions to problems.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #bda762;\"><strong>Support and understanding<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Schools, workplaces and communities are increasingly adapting to accommodate those with dyslexia. From tailored teaching strategies to embracing technology, much has been done to provide an environment where everyone can thrive.<\/p>\n<p>The British Dyslexia Association provides resources, guidance and support for individuals and families.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #bda762;\"><strong>Famous dyslexic Britons<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Richard Branson:<\/strong> The Virgin Group founder\u2019s entrepreneurial spirit hasn\u2019t been hindered by dyslexia but has fuelled his innovative thinking.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jamie Oliver:<\/strong> This celebrity chef has turned his dyslexia into a creative flair in the kitchen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cher Lloyd:<\/strong> Singer and songwriter Cher Lloyd has shown that dyslexia doesn\u2019t have to be a barrier to creative success.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Steve McQueen:<\/strong> The acclaimed film director has proven that dyslexia can be a gift in visual storytelling.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Keira Knightley:<\/strong> The Hollywood actress was diagnosed at six and has become one of the UK\u2019s most famous film stars.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #bda762;\"><strong>Get involved<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>At Crane &amp; Co we strive to make as much of our written material as dyslexia-friendly as possible.<\/p>\n<p>And we\u2019re backing Dyslexia Week.
